Smart Property Investment Podcast Network reaches a million listeners

17 May 2018

Momentum Media’s first Smart Property Investment podcast went to air in November 2015, when Phillip Tarrant interviewed mortgage broker Ross Le Quesne about what to do when interest rates rise and how APRA affects investors.

In 2018, the Smart Property Investment Podcast Network reached 1 million listeners … and counting.

It’s a remarkable achievement and shows that Momentum is delivering the right content to an audience of property investors who are hungry for the best insights and advice, presented in a format that informs, entertains, inspires and saves time.

Podcasts are increasingly popular, mainly because people can listen while they undertake other tasks, such as driving, exercise and even housework. The same cannot be said about reading or viewing videos. However, the podcast market has also become competitive, with listeners more discerning than ever about choosing the best ones for their specific needs.

That’s why Momentum is so satisfied with the success of the Smart Property Investment Podcast Network, which brings together the best of Australian property investment talent in one dedicated platform and delivers insights that help investors create greater wealth through property.

The network now comprises three shows – The Smart Property Investment Show, Investing Insights and Property Showcase.

The Smart Property Investment Show, produced twice each week, focuses on key issues facing investors. Regular guests include property experts, demographers, politicians, property influencers and investors, all sharing their thoughts on the property market, lender policies, government regulation and the national economy.

Investing Insights is a monthly podcast partnership between Smart Property Investment and leading property buyers’ agents Steve Waters and Victor Kumar from the Right Property Group. It delivers real-world strategies to create wealth through property.

Property Showcase, produced fortnightly, has the inside track on the products and businesses that can help property investors turbocharge their portfolios, maximise returns and make their overall investment experience seamless and stress-free.

Phillip Tarrant, who is both a director of Momentum Media and host of The Smart Property Investment Show, believes that reaching over a million listeners is a big win for the community of property investors served by the podcast network.

“I’m proud to work with so many Australian property investors, sharing their stories and helping them to make more informed buying and investment decisions,” says Phillip.

“Our audience is a community of investors who crave the right information. We share the stories of all types of investors – from those who have just one property to professionals who have 50. Everyone can learn from them. Everyone can grow and evolve through that learning.

“It’s clear that we’ve hit the right note with our property investment podcasts. They’re now downloaded an average 70,000-75,000 times each month, with 5,000-6,000 average downloads of each episode. We’ve experienced a 125 per cent increase in downloads, year-on-year, and there have even been over 50,000 downloads internationally since January this year.”

Momentum is increasingly turning to podcasting as a way of reaching audiences in several different sectors. The company now produces podcast shows associated with media titles such as Mortgage Business, The Adviser, Lawyers Weekly, Defence Connect and Accountants Daily, with others on the drawing board.

As the quality of Momentum’s podcast content continues to improve with every episode, it surely won’t be too long before the Smart Property Investment Podcast Network reaches the next milestone of 2 million listeners.
