At Captivate, we are dedicated to creating event experiences where everyone feels safe, welcome, and respected — whether you're attending, working, performing, sponsoring, or partnering with us.
We believe in celebrating creativity and community, and that means holding ourselves and others to a high standard of behaviour. We have zero tolerance for discrimination, harassment, bullying, or abuse of power in any form. Anyone participating in our events — from the event planning to the post-event wrap up, and from behind the scenes to the main stage — is expected to contribute to a positive and inclusive environment.
The following actions are considered violations of this Code of Conduct and may result in immediate removal from an event or further action.
Treating someone unfairly or negatively based on their race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, religion, disability, age, or any other personal characteristic is never acceptable. Everyone deserves to feel included.
Any unwanted or offensive conduct — whether verbal, physical, visual, or digital — that makes someone feel intimidated, uncomfortable, or degraded is considered harassment. This includes:
Intent doesn’t override impact — if someone feels harassed, it matters.
Bullying may look like persistent criticism, humiliation, exclusion, or spreading harmful rumours. It can happen in person, online, or behind the scenes — and it’s not tolerated at and for any Captivate event.
Any abuse of position — including using influence to manipulate, intimidate, or exploit others — is a breach of this Code. All participants, regardless of role, should be treated with fairness and respect.
We ask that everyone involved in planning and delivery at a Captivate event, from staff and crew to guests, partners and collaborators, demonstrate the following values:
We also encourage everyone to take ownership of their impact, not just their intent.
If you witness or experience any conduct that goes against these standards, please speak up. We take every concern seriously and will ensure it is handled discreetly and fairly.

In-person: Speak to a senior team member or on-site event manager

Once a report is received, Captivate will:
We may temporarily restrict a person’s access to the event while an investigation is ongoing, if needed to protect others’ wellbeing.
At Captivate, we’re not just about producing events, we’re creating spaces for people to connect, express, and belong. That’s only possible when everyone feels safe, valued, and heard.
By participating in a Captivate event, you agree to uphold this Code of Conduct and help us build a culture of respect and inclusion.
