Women in Law Awards 2025: Australia celebrates its trailblazers

Momentum Media’s legal brand Lawyers Weekly has just unveiled the winners of the Women in Law Awards 2025, shining a national spotlight on the extraordinary women reshaping Australia’s legal landscape.

This prestigious national program once again presented an unparalleled opportunity for leading women to showcase their achievements, attract new clients and accelerate their careers — all while receiving the recognition they deserved.

Unfolding on Thursday, 27 November 2025, against the backdrop of Crown Melbourne, this year’s gala once again championed the talent, tenacity and impact of women driving the profession forward. Now in its 14th year, the program – proudly supported by Principal Partner nrol and The Broker for Lawyers – continues to set the benchmark for excellence across the business of law.

This year’s awards drew 780 submissions from across the country, with over 270 finalists vying for one of 29 coveted trophies. From powerhouse partners to rising stars, legal operations specialists to pro bono champions, the 2025 cohort reflected the depth, diversity and ambition of Australia’s legal talent.

Standout winners emerged from leading firms and organisations, including Hall & Wilcox, Ashurst, Westpac Group, A&O Shearman, SLF Lawyers and LegalVision, among many others. The group categories also spotlighted firms reshaping culture and capability – with Harmers Workplace Lawyers, Parker Coles Curtis and Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer among those recognised for innovation and leadership.

Across the board, this year’s award recipients showcased the powerful role women continue to play in elevating legal practice, driving operational excellence, and championing diversity, wellbeing and access to justice.

Underpinning the program is a rigorous and transparent judging methodology, developed in partnership with Lawyers Weekly, Momentum Media and an esteemed panel of legal leaders. Each submission underwent a comprehensive audit and multi-judge scoring process, benchmarked against category criteria to ensure a fair and credible assessment of achievement.

With a record volume of submissions and a truly exceptional calibre of entrants, the 2025 winners represent the very best of the profession – individuals and teams who are not only excelling in their fields, but shaping the future of law in Australia.
