The MyBusiness Awards has launched for 2020 and is now taking submissions. But unlike previous years, this year’s event will be delivered as a live, immersive broadcast on 4 December to ensure social distancing under the requirements of COVID-19.

The global coronavirus crisis has had an immense impact on business and personal lives around the world.

Overnight, the curtains were drawn on thousands of businesses. Business models have been made and broken, and while some are thriving and others surviving, a number will unfortunately fail through no fault of their own.

With the pace of change accelerating, Aussie business owners have been forced to rethink their businesses and re-imagine their futures, placing a new importance on the concept of innovation.

The editor of MyBusiness, Maja Garaca Djurdjevic, explained that it is this unwavering Aussie spirit to fight against all adversity that the SME platform wants to celebrate this year.

“Earlier this year, the team at MyBusiness sat down to consider our options and whether it would be appropriate to press ahead with this year’s awards. Being so deeply immersed in the SME space, we recognised that a majority of business owners have been doing it extremely tough,” Ms Garaca Djurdjevic said.

“At the same time and in spite of all the gloom around us, those inspiring stories of perseverance pierced through and we came to the realisation that we need to go ahead and applaud our SME heroes.”

If you are a small-to-medium-business owner or professional operating in Australia, or if you would like to recognise a small business you value, complete a submission here.

Entrants are encouraged to get in before the deadline on 23 October to avoid missing out on this unique event!
