Lawyers Weekly 30 Under 30 finalists for 2021 revealed

Lawyers Weekly and principal partner Taylor Root are thrilled to announce the finalists for this year’s 30 Under 30 Awards.

This year's awards will be a five-star gala dinner and live-streamed to those unable to attend

30 Under 30 is back for its ninth year, and Lawyers Weekly is bringing an exciting awards program that recognises and celebrates the best and brightest in Australia’s emerging generation of leaders in law. Achieving 30 Under 30 status offers a foundation for vocational success and career progression, providing an industry-wide acknowledgement of not only professional competency, but also passion for and dedication to one’s craft.

The awards, being held on Friday, 11 June at The Star in Sydney, will cap off an exciting week for Australia's young legal talent: from 8 to 10 June, Lawyers Weekly is hosting the inaugural Careers Expo & Emerging Leaders Summit, together with principal partner College of Law. This three-day conference is a free-to-attend, live-stream event designed to arm the profession's future leaders with the tools and strategies to succeed in the looming post-pandemic marketplace.

Principal partner for 30 Under 30, Taylor Root, will be presenting awards for the following categories on the night: banking and finance, construction and infrastructure, dispute resolution, mergers and acquisitions, projects, energy and resources.

Elsewhere, event partner GlobalX will present the award for the real estate category.

Lawyers Weekly deputy editor Jerome Doraisamy congratulated all finalists.

“The past year has been especially trying for younger legal practitioners, and as such, it is more important than ever to celebrate their myriad achievements,” he proclaimed.

“30 Under 30 is always a rapturous evening, and we cannot wait to celebrate with all of the finalists (and eventual winners!).”

Mr Doraisamy added: "Those attending the first-ever Careers Expo & Emerging Leaders Summit should attend or tune in for this awards night, to get a sense of what it takes to succeed in the early years of practice, no matter what area of law one is in."

This year, the awards will be unlike no year before it, with a five-star gala dinner being hosted in Sydney for finalists, friends, family and colleagues to attend and mingle with industry peers, and – for those unable to attend – a live-stream option will be available, for you to bring the awards to your own living room!
