Registrations open for New Broker Academy 2024

Momentum Media and mortgages brand The Adviser are pleased to launch the New Broker Academy for 2024, a free conference that prepares new and established brokers to flourish in their first three years of business.

Darrell Weekes (Purple Thread Marketing), Arjun Paliwal (InvestorKit) and Ben Kingsley (Empower Wealth) will be speaking at New Broker Academy 2024.

The eighth annual New Broker Academy conference will be held in June in Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney. Click here to register for free.

Brokers will hear directly from some of Australia’s most successful brokers about the strategies they implemented to establish themselves in their first few years in the industry, and subsequently, to thrive and grow to where they are today.

The conference includes a jam-packed agenda that has been divided into four pillars of strategies required for fledgling brokers to upskill and carve their presence in the industry.

These include:

  • Lead generation
  • Diversification
  • Business strategy
  • Technology

Why attend New Broker Academy?

Hear from the leaders of the broking industry as they unpack best practices on how new brokers can build a strong foundation for future scale and efficiency.

Brokers will learn about how to establish long-term and successful referral partnerships, as well as marketing strategies for building a strong digital presence on websites and social media platforms.

The New Broker Academy is targeted at brokers in their first years of business, recently qualified and accredited brokers, and out-of-industry professionals seeking a new career in mortgage and finance broking.

What can prospective brokers gain?

For those thinking of becoming a broker for the first time, a dedicated session led by the managing director of the Finance Brokers Association of Australasia (FBAA) managing director Peter White will unpack the benefits of a career in broking and how to enter a field that has uncapped earning potential (while using transferable skills).

He will also reveal why now is the best time to become a broker and how they can help homeowners navigate a tumultuous economic environment.

In the following session, prospective brokers will receive step-by-step instructions on how to build their career from the ground up. It will detail the different structures of broking businesses, how to find a suitable mentor and receive the required support, and how to choose the associations, aggregators, and lenders to bolster a new broking business.

What’s in it for new brokers

For new brokers already up-and-running, the conference will detail how elite brokers build a high-volume business from scratch.

Ben Kingsley – founder and managing director of Empower Wealth – will share insights on how new brokers can set and meet financial goals, manage cash flow in the early stages of their business so they do not run out of capital, embed systems and processes to run a smooth brokerage, and create value in the business beyond trail.

Attendees will also be treated to a panel session, where three leading brokers will offer advice on how new brokers can thrive at different stages of their career, and how to run a high-volume broking business.

Given that finding and keeping clients is a central part of success, lead generation will also be in sharp focus. Purple Thread Marketing founder and marketing specialist Darrell Weekes will demystify search engine optimisation (SEO) and how brokers can unlock organic lead generation on an ongoing basis.

In addition, delegates will learn how to craft a memorable digital marketing strategy across websites, social media, direct email marketing, and how to create engaging content that converts leads.

The New Broker Academy will conclude with a dynamic session on how brokers can create an unbreakable referral pipeline.

InvestorKit director and buyer’s agent Arjun Paliwal will explain how brokers can initiate conversations and identify networking opportunities to connect with potential referral partners, and break down what to expect from a referral partner (and - crucially - what they expect from brokers, too!).

He will provide insights on how brokers can avoid some common mistakes when establishing and growing their referral partnerships.

Throughout the New Broker Academy conference, attendees will have the opportunity to network with industry leaders, association heads, successful brokers, major brokerages, and lenders, and walk away with practical tips to propel their career in broking.

More speakers will be announced in the weeks to come.
