Full house for REB’s REInnovate

Sydney’s The Star played host to REB’s wildly successful REInnovate conference last month.

REB editor Grace Ormsby said REInnovate provided a unique opportunity for business owners, real estate agents and property managers alike to learn more about the up-and-coming trends that are set to impact the profession.

It was a full house at the industry event hosted by Momentum Media’s leading real estate brand, and made possible through the support of principal partner, Propps.

Pulling together some of the most innovative minds in the real estate industry and the prop tech sector, REInnovate aims to not only prepare professionals for a decade of transformation, but also give them a sneak peek at some of the emerging technologies and trends set to impact their day-to-day work over the coming years.

To kick off the day’s proceedings, Bernard Salt delivered an optimistic and engaging keynote presentation.

The esteemed futurist, analyst, advisor, commentator and author shared why the real estate profession stands in such good shape in 2022 - and revealed why agents should be in-the-know around consumer trends, given they directly relate to the future of property.

Attendees were then treated to another keynote presentation by Michael Drage, who was beamed in live to talk through sustainable housing trends and what it could mean for buyers of the future.

Journalist Jessica Ridley also offered her insight into what agents and business owners should do when the media calls, before a panel presentation unpacked the future of automatic payments.

Agency empowerment was a recurring theme throughout the day, with agents and business owners encouraged to discuss the future of work, hybrid business models, recruitment in the digital age, and growth without borders across a number of sessions aimed at highlighting best practice for the profession.

In the afternoon session, Chelsea Pottenger offered up some sage words of advice around scientifically-backed wellness strategies.

Then, Tom Panos took to the stage for not just one, but two energy-packed sessions aimed at improving an agent’s ability to engage with not just vendors, but potential purchasers as well, enthralling the audience with a number of take-home strategies for them to try out.

REB editor Grace Ormsby said REInnovate provided a unique opportunity for business owners, real estate agents and property managers alike to learn more about the up-and-coming trends that are set to impact the profession.

“The intel on offer at REInnovate was truly world class, and offered attendees such a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the ecosystem of technology already at their doorstep, while inviting them to think further about what the profession will look like in one, two, and five years' time.”

Praising the event’s partners, she said their enthusiasm for the event had also had a huge impact on REInnovate’s success.

As well as the support provided by Propps, Proptech Group and Propic came on as platinum partners, with representatives from all three companies addressing the crowd on the day to great rapport.

Gold partners for the event included AgentBox, Finni, Managed App, and Securexchange.

The ‘start-up alley’ was also very well received, and saw quick-fire presentations from Realty Assist Australia, Properti, REGROWTH and AgentSpot.

Ms Ormsby also said the success of the event painted an encouraging view of the profession’s enthusiasm around the return to in-person events.

“After two years of a pandemic, it was so lovely to catch-up with people in person again!

“We are already looking forward to putting on even bigger and better events in the future! Watch this space!”
