Bouris tips new advisory event to drive industry change

A new event designed for accountants has been heralded as a catalyst for firms of all sizes to make a successful transition to a fully fledged business advisory offering.

Mark Bouris, executive chairman of Yellow Brick Road, will be a keynote speaker at the upcoming AccountantsDaily Business Advisory Day event to be hosted in Melbourne and Sydney in April.

Speaking of the challenges and opportunities the profession faces, Mr Bouris said most accountants understand the need to move into business advisory but many lack the know-how to make a smooth transition.

“Accountants can add much more value to their clients by providing business advice in addition to tax planning. With the headwinds that most Australian businesses face for the foreseeable future this is the perfect time for accountants to increase their value proposition to business owners.

“Most accountants know they have to change their offering, but knowing they have to change and knowing how to change are two very different things.”

According to Mr Bouris, accountants should be upskilling and educating themselves now to ensure a successful transition to business advisory.

“Implementing significant change in any business can be tough, but by following the right advice accountants can ensure the transition to business advisory is a smooth and successful one," he said.

“The Business Advisory Day will deliver the insights and strategies accountants need to help transform their practice and deliver greater value to their clients.”

The Business Advisory Day, produced by AccountantsDaily, will take attendees through the steps required to transition a compliance-based practice into a business advisory firm.

To be held in Sydney and Melbourne on 6 and 12 April respectively, the day will provide accountants with the tools needed to evolve their business and secure future success.

More information on the event, including a full agenda, location details and pricing can be found on the Business Advisory Day website.
