Australian Broking Awards attracts strong interest

Submissions are flooding in for the sixth annual Australian Broking Awards, with competition for all 24 categories expected to be fierce.

The 2016 Australian Broking Awards, partnered by Commonwealth Bank, are the only industry accolades that solely recognise the nation’s leading brokers, brokerages and aggregation groups.

Among the categories will be an award for the Commercial Broker of the Year.

This award recognised the broker that specialises in commercial finance and is best servicing the commercial borrowing needs of their clients.

The award is based on broker business metrics (including but not limited to volumes, loan book, and conversion rates) plus broker submission.

Other awards include the coveted Broker of the Year title, Finance Broker of the Year and Major Brokerage of the Year.

Jim Hall, head of mortgages and real estate at Sterling Publishing – the publisher of The Adviser – said competition will be hotter than ever at this year’s awards ceremony.

“The Australian Broking Awards continue to be the benchmark for professionalism, dedication and business success,” he said.

“Finalists really can claim to be at the forefront of this fast-changing and dynamic industry, and those that are recognised benefit greatly in what is a highly competitive marketplace.

“This year I expect even stiffer competition, considering the exceptionally high level of talent I’ve recently witnessed [while] travelling across Australia.”

The winners of the 2016 Australian Broking Awards will be revealed at The Star, Sydney on Friday 1 July.

Submissions for the Australian Broking Awards close on 29 April 2016.

Groups and brokers can nominate themselves or can alternatively be nominated by third parties.
