Submissions now open for second Australian Aviation Awards

Submissions are now open for the second annual Australian Aviation Awards, supported by UNSW Sydney.

Australian Aviation’s Adam Thorn said the Awards highlight the individuals and businesses who have excelled following a year of open international borders and record demand for domestic travel.

Hosted by Momentum Media’s aviation brand Australian Aviation, it follows last year’s landmark inaugural event that saw industry big hitters and innovators such as Rex, Swoop Aero and Little Wings take home our top prizes.

This year’s individual categories include those recognising pilots, engineers and executives, as well as groups such as airlines, airports and start-ups.

We’re also introducing new categories, including Female Rising Star, Innovation of the Year and Marketing Campaign of the Year.

The awards program will culminate in a black-tie gala dinner and ceremony at The Star in Sydney on Thursday, 31 August 2023. To find out more, visit our dedicated website.

Australian Aviation’s Adam Thorn said, “Last year’s awards recognised those in the industry who hadn’t just survived COVID but thrived during a once-in-a-lifetime crisis.

“But after a year of open international borders and record demand for domestic travel, August’s ceremony will highlight the individuals and businesses who have taken advantage.

“Today, we’re calling on those in the industry to either submit their own entries or nominate a worthy colleague or friend to do the same.

“Our categories are more diverse than ever, so we encourage anyone who has had a good year to browse through our website and put themselves forward. Submissions close on Thursday, 8 June.

“And regardless of whether you get the nod for an award, our awards night is the ultimate contacts-making opportunity in the industry. We’d love to see you there.”

Individual categories include Aviation Safety Professional of the Year, Commercial Pilot of the Year, Engineering Professional of the Year, Female Aviation Leader of the Year and Rotary-wing Pilot of the Year.

Group categories include Aerial Service Business of the Year, Defence Support Business of the Year, Flight Training Business of the Year, Manufacturing/Maintenance Business of the Year and Safety Innovator of the Year.

The submissions are peer-reviewed by a highly-regarded and trusted panel of judges to recognise the best and brightest in the industry who are demonstrating their capabilities and passion for driving the industry forward.
