Event Manager

We’re looking for an experienced event manager to support our event strategy delivering Momentum Media’s media brand events. You will play an integral role in the Momentum Connect team, helping to deliver new and existing corporate events (including summits, conferences, study tours and awards).  You will work across the annual calendar of events that meet budget and client/delegate expectations.

The role: We’re looking for an experienced event manager to support our event strategy delivering Momentum Media’s media brand events. You will play an integral role in the Momentum Connect team, helping to deliver new and existing corporate events (including summits, conferences, study tours and awards).  You will work across the annual calendar of events that meet budget and client/delegate expectations.

Reports to: Head of Event Production

Direct reports: None

Core responsibilities:

  • Ensure event progress is kept on-track against project plan and timetable and that event risks are proactively identified and mitigated
  • Manage execution of event logistics and operations including the delegation of tasks to event operations
  • Event cost management to meet budget expectations
  • Work in conjunction with the sales operation,  design, marketing team to contribute to event strategy
  • Venue and supplier sourcing, negotiation and contracting
  • Coordinate staff (both internal and onsite staff) and resources for specific events
  • Troubleshoot conflicts and issues as they arise
  • Speaker and sponsor engagement and preparation (typically during execution phase)
  • Lead Event bump-in and bump-out
  • Develop effective relationships with event stakeholders, suppliers and partners (both internal and external)
  • Actively contribute and implement ideas and proposals to increase event impact, reach, efficiency of delivery and commercial results, as well as capturing feedback and improvements to measure event’s success

Experience and qualifications:

  • At least 3 years’ experience managing event delivery
  • Degree in marketing, hospitality or event management is preferred
  • Capable of safe manual handling of event supplies and equipment
  • Basic set-up and testing of audio-visual equipment
  • Current first-aid certificate preferred
