Primary purpose: Accurately and efficiency deliver the monthly payroll duties.

Secondary purpose: Fulfill other required accounting administration tasks during the month between payroll duties.

Reports to: Head of Finance

Direct reports: None

Core responsibilities:

Payroll Administrator

  • Processing the monthly payroll inclusive of all leave and salary adjustments, payments relating to onboarding and offboarding employees, and commission and bonus payments.
  • Preparing compliance payments such PAYG withholding and Payroll Tax.
  • Processing Superannuation and maintaining company superannuation accounts.
  • Knowledge of the relevant employment and industrial relations laws.
  • Reporting on various aspects of the payroll function.
  • Responding to employee questions surrounding the entire payroll function.

 

Accounting and General Duties

  • Recording of financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, posting and recording accounts data
  • Maintenance of related company property portfolios.
  • Recording of Staff Expenses and Petty Cash.
  • Updating ledgers, researching and resolving discrepancies.
  • General office tasks, including answering phones, responding to emails, processing mail, filing, etc.

Core skills/capabilities:

  • Understanding of advanced accounting principles
  • Ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
  • Data entry skills along with comfort and accuracy with numbers
  • Effective communication skills
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ethical behaviour when dealing with sensitive financial information.

Experience and qualifications:

  • Two to three years of relevant experience in a payroll role necessary
  • Advanced spreadsheet and accounting software user
  • MYOB and Employment Hero experience highly regarded
  • Has obtained a tertiary degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Business Administration
  • An interest in property investment
