We’re seeking a talented and passionate Content Manager to lead the content strategy across our aviation ecommerce offerings. 


The Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager, eCommerce, you will be results-oriented with a focus on delivering exceptional, informative and engaging content to better inform our existing and potential aviation membership audiences.


In an expansive role that will connect you with all facets of the Momentum business plus external stakeholders, you’ll be charged with originating, delivering and maintaining an ever-evolving content strategy to achieve our business goals with a key focus on membership engagement.


You will be responsible for identifying new content opportunities, exploring ways to repurpose existing content throughout the product suite, coordinating the digitisation of historic content, as well as working closely with the marketing team in distributing the content through relevant channels. 


Key to this role will be your proven ability to coordinate a cross-functional internal team in bringing content to life and creating audience engagement. 


Core responsibilities:

  • Leads digital content strategy to attain business goals and grow our competitive advantage.
  • Manage and maintain customer facing content on our aviation membership products with the core aims of delivering and maintaining audience growth.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and success of content, measuring actual results against desired outcomes (including monitoring the performance of published content across all social media channels).
  • Identify gaps in the current content offering and work with teams to build appropriate and engaging content for our members.
  • Responsible for hearing the voice of the reader and transforming it into an optimal content plan and calendar.
  • Assess, review and approve membership content, including the selection of appropriate imagery to accompany text based content.
  • Load repurposed and curated content through the website CMS.
  • Curate and produce monthly email newsletters for premium members.
  • Surface both new and archived content daily for promotion through our social channels. 
  • Source and manage content deals with external partners.
  • Manage the digitisation of all historical magazine content.
  • Identify image gallery opportunities from our vast photo database.
  • Ensure all content is creatively and commercially marketed in liaison with the marketing team for maximum engagement, loyalty and acquisition.


Core skills/capabilities:

  • An innovator able to develop new content ideas that resonate with our aviation audience, correctly targeted and delivered across multiple platforms.
  • Well versed in and understand the importance of content optimisation and brand consistency as well as using analytics in the formulation of a content strategy.
  • Strong website aesthetics, with an understanding of imagery/design effects on content perception.
  • Drives outcomes to meet time and quality expectations.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish effective systems and processes and work across multiple departments.
  • Effective time and priority management.
  • Understands the target market of the brand/publication.
  • Experience with using content management systems.
  • Basic image editing skills.
  • Understanding of SEO and Google Analytics.
  • Sub-editing and proofreading of any content produced.


Experience and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience required in the media industry.
  • 4-5 years of content creation and management experience. Hands-on experience in content creation, content distribution, audience engagement, social media, and digital marketing. 
  • Excellent understanding of content strategy, platforms, and channels.
  • Strong communication skills & project management skills
  • A love of aviation is a must!
