We are seeking a News Editor to join our highly energised, talented and committed editorial team across our defence and security portfolio to help drive our continued success plus expend our offering for our readers.
As our News Editor you will plan, source, curate and write quality content that’s consistent with editorial plans. You’ll use your knowledge and journalistic experience to report and create news, profiles, reports, analysis and undertake investigations on issues critical to the development of Australia’s cyber security sector and our national interests.
You will work as part of a dedicated team in a fast-paced office where building networks and hitting deadlines is essential.
You will contribute to all aspects of the production cycle, including writing, subbing, features meetings, attending industry events and more.
It’s a hands-on role where you’ll connect with business leaders, government officials, defence and military leaders, ministers, senators and other senior parliamentary officials plus large global and Australian and global cyber companies, think tanks, SMEs, academics and research institutions.
You will be a News Editor or Senior Journalist with at least three years' experience writing for a business or relevant media platform. You'll be an enthusiastic self-starter who can work independently and, importantly, is not afraid of hard work.
Applicants with knowledge of the cyber security and national security sectors are highly desirable. A degree and/or interest in international relations, politics, cyber security, national security, military or current affairs is also valuable.
