My Business and principal sponsor Optus are seeking submissions from successful businesses nationwide as the SME community’s premier awards event launches for 2017.
Submissions are now open for the Optus My Business Awards, across a total of 27 categories.
New in 2017 are awards recognising outstanding achievement in online retailing, as well as excellence in corporate social responsibility.
“My Business has a long history of championing the SME community and acknowledging its vital contribution to our economy and society,” said Adam Zuchetti, editor of My Business.
“We are really proud to be able to continue this prestigious event and recognise the hard-working achievements and successes of Australia’s SMEs.”
He added: “Running a business is undeniably hard work, and the Optus My Business Awards is a great opportunity for business leaders and their teams to celebrate their accomplishments as well as network with their peers from around the country.”
Many past winners of the long-running awards program have gone on to become iconic Aussie brands, including Boost Juice, H2Coco, Red Balloon Days, Sumo Salad and Roses Only.
Last year’s event was a sell-out, with more than 500 business owners and their employees, families and supporters gathered at Sydney’s Four Points by Sheraton hotel.
This year, the black-tie gala awards dinner will be held on Friday, 10 November, in the grand ballroom of one of Sydney’s most luxurious hotels, The Westin.
Applicants are urged to get their nominations in quickly, as submissions will close at 5pm on Friday, 25 August.
Finalists will be determined by a panel of independent judges and announced in mid-September.
